Anmchara

The “Anmchara” is a group of willing individuals who offer one-to-one friendship and support to others within the congregation and parish. The Gaelic word, meaning “soul friend”, inspired the bringing together and training of these individuals and it has been a much appreciated aspect of the Crown Church’s ministry. Perhaps around a crisis time, or simply as an initiative to counter loneliness and isolation, the role of the Anmchara is to befriend and to keep regularly in touch – how regularly depending very much on both the care-giver and care-receiver.  Periodically there are opportunities for all the Anmchara and their friends to come together for worship and hospitality at church.

Anyone interested either in offering such one-to-one caring support, or feeling that such support would be much appreciated, should in the first instance contact the Minister, Peter Donald.
