Morning Worship

Family Worship is held weekly on a Sunday morning at both 9.30 am and 11 am.  The first service is shorter, with an emphasis on all ages worshipping together and currently held in the Lower Hall. The second service is more traditional, though continually evolving, held in the sanctuary. There is still proivision for children who on most Sundays go out to their own activities for part of the service ("Treasure Seekers"). There is also available every Sunday a creche.

After either service fellowship is extended through the serving of refreshments in the Halls.

Evening Worship is held weekly on a Sunday at 6.30 pm, often in the more informal setting of the Lower Hall (note, however, there is no Evening Worship in July and August)

With the church sanctuary open every day, we have at Prayers on Fridays 12 noon .

Worshipping together most commonly takes the form of a service of the “Word” – shaped around Bible reading, with prayers and teaching, often through a set-piece sermon (though not always). While children are encouraged to relate to the service as they are able, there are also two tables in the sanctuary on which are laid out books and sheets to draw their attention.

We also periodically have sacramental worship - celebrations of the Sacraments of Baptism and Holy Communion. Services with the Lord's Supper are held on the first Sundays of December, March, June and September, also on Christmas Day and Easter Day.

We have a church choir to help lead our singing, and new voices are always welcome: please contact Mrs Brigid Donald, the Director of Music. Also on occasion, as well as the organ to accompany the singing, there is a Junior Band. We mostly use the Church Hymnary, Fourth Edition (CH4) but having a copyright licence, also frequently borrow praise items from other sources.

The Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper is celebrated on the first Sundays of December, March, June and September, and also on the significant dates of Christmas, Easter and Pentecost. Here the good news proclaimed in word is reinforced by the sharing of bread and wine, faithful to the tradition which came from the Lord Jesus himself. Also once a month, on a Wednesday evening at 7 pm, we have a simple and short celebration of the Sacrament.  The Sacrament of Baptism is administered by arrangement with the Minister.

All are welcome to come to these services – those with questions and doubts as well as those of strong faith! We aim positively to welcome the stranger in our midst and to accept one another, to the glory of God.
