Morning Worship

Family Worship is held weekly on a Sunday at 11 am

In the school summer holidays there is also a service at 9.30 am (in 2009: 5 July – 16 August inclusive)

Evening Worship is held weekly on a Sunday at 6.30 pm, often in the more informal setting of the Lower Hall (note, however, there is no Evening Worship in July and August)

With the church sanctuary open every day, we have Daily Prayers at 12 noon and on Wednesdays at 7 pm.

The morning service, for all the church family, is the best attended of our worship life. Most Sundays it is a service of the “Word” – with Biblical teaching both for children and adults. Various Junior Church groups for those aged 3-16 are offered in school term (Sundays for children) and there is always a crèche for the youngest children. There are also two tables in the sanctuary on which are laid out books and sheets that children might like to use if they prefer to stay in for the whole service.

We have a church choir to help lead our singing, and new voices are always welcome: please contact Mrs Brigid Donald, the Director of Music. Also on occasion, as well as the organ to accompany the singing, there is a Junior Band. We mostly use the Church Hymnary, Fourth Edition (CH4) but having a copyright licence, also frequently borrow praise items from other sources.

The Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper is celebrated on the first Sundays of December, March, June and September, and also on the significant dates of Christmas, Easter and Pentecost. Here the good news proclaimed in word is reinforced by the sharing of bread and wine, faithful to the tradition which came from the Lord Jesus himself. Also once a month, on a Wednesday evening at 7 pm, we have a simple and short celebration of the Sacrament.  The Sacrament of Baptism is administered by arrangement with the Minister.

All are welcome to come to these services – those with questions and doubts as well as those of strong faith! We aim positively to welcome the stranger in our midst and to accept one another, to the glory of God.

On the last Sunday of the month, fellowship is extended beyond the service into the church halls, where there is tea, coffee and juice!
