Rev William Todd MA
1899 - 1907
Known for the vigour, eloquence and evangelical fervour of
his preaching. Under his ministry the Sunday School and Bible Class were
established, along with a Sunday School Teacher's Association, a Lady
Visitor's Society and a Musical Association. A Literary Society proved popular
with young people and a weeknight service was introduced on Wednesdays.

Rev John D MacGilp
MA
1908 - 1918
His ministry is described in the Crown Church 25th
Anniversary Brochure as a "wise and gracious stewardship which widened
out into educational and national service". Mr MacGilp resigned his
charge in 1918 as a result of increased duties following his appointment as
Deputy Food Controller.

Rev Duncan W P Strang MA, MC, DD
1919 - 1921
Mr Strang is remembered as a cultured, eloquent and
faithful minister and a loving and sympathetic pastor. He came to Crown Church
following service as a combatant officer in the First World War.

Rev John Dow MA, DD
1922 - 1925
It is said of John Dow "Not every brilliant scholar is
a good teacher, but John Dow was eminent in both capacities, and added a third
dimension to his full life as a powerful and persuasive preacher." He
left Crown to take the Chair of New Testament Literature at Knox College,
Toronto.

Rev Stewart Mechie
MA, DD
1926 - 1936
Mr Mechie is remembered in Kirk Session minutes as "a
man of sterling integrity and stainless character". His ministry was
notable for the success of his pastoral care and the vigour of the youth
organisations.

Rev William Grieve MSc
1936 - 1947
Mr Grieve's ministry was interrupted by the second World
War. He spent over six years on war service as a forces chaplain.

Rev R. Sangster Anderson DD
1939 - 1945
A retired minister, Mr Sangster Anderson ministered to the
congregation during the war years.

Rev Charles P. Smith MA
1947 - 1969
The ministry of Mr Smith was the longest ministry to date
in Crown Church's history. Mr Smith is remembered for his outstanding record
of achievements in outreach, membership and building developments, but
particularly for his leadership and untiring work and self-sacrifice.

Rev Robert J V Logan MA BD
1970 - 1998
Mr Logan's ministry was to be the longest ministry of the
first hundred years, characterised by erudite and eloquent preaching. He gave distinguished service as
clerk to the Inverness
Presbytery from 1980 - 1996 during which time his knowledge of Church Law
proved to be of immense value.

Rev Peter H Donald MA PhD BD
1998
- present
Dr Donald brings scholarship and youthful energy to his
ministry at Crown Church, at the start of the new millennium. It has
been an encouragement that the congregation has continued to be buoyant in
these most recent years welcoming new faces as well as old.

Mr Frizzell joined Crown Church
after retiring from his last charge in Wick and makes an invaluable
contribution to the pastoral care of the congregation

education and outreach)
2003 - present
Dr Jones has brought rich
experience of ministry both in the USA and in Scotland and has made a
significant impact on the life of the congregation.
