The Congregational Board takes responsibility for financial and other material aspects of the church’s life. Being a registered charity, financial matters are ultimately held under the scrutiny of the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR), but spending decisions are taken locally and in conjunction with the national Church of Scotland. The church buildings, some of which are now over a century old, need regular maintenance, both outside and in.
Anyone may attend the meetings but only appointed Elders and elected Members may vote. Every year there is a Stated Annual Meeting to which the whole congregation is invited and at which new Board members are elected.
Clerk to the Board is Mrs Judith Macleod. The Minister has delegated chairmanship in 2017-18 to Mr Bill Mein. There are four standing committees – Finance, Works, Halls and Socials.
