Sunday for Children
Children are very much part of the church family at Crown. It is wonderful to see very young babies are brought to worship and to have the youngest children also able to play and sleep in the Crèche that we have every Sunday morning.
"Treasure Seekers" is our focused learning programme for children of primary school age. It happens during school term at the 11 am service, taking the children out for part of the time so that they can participate actively in learning and sharing together.
The start of the 9.30 services has offered another alternative which has appealed to some families with children - though it is again aimed at anyone and everyone. The pattern, held entirely in the Lower Hall, is for a more informal style of worship, with a large measure of all-age learning and worshipping together,. On occasion but not every Sunday the children again break out for some particular activities in which they can participate differently.
Through all of our ministry to children and young people we are keen not entirely to segregate people according to age. It is such a blessing to have all ages together in church, to allow giving and receiving all round. Even when the children break out of the main body of the assembly, there is always part of the service in which all are included. Opportunities for service are created for children also to take up, alongside adults, such as welcoming people at the doors or taking up the Offering.
