Worship with us

We meet to worship the Living God, and explore more of what his word, the Bible, teaches us about.

Worshipping together most commonly takes the form of a service of the “Word” – shaped around Bible reading, with prayers and teaching, often through a set-piece sermon (though not always). While children are encouraged to relate to the service as they are able at their own level, there are also two tables in the sanctuary which are laid out with books, drawing materials and fun sheets to keep their attention.

We have a church choir to help lead our singing, and new voices are always welcome: please contact the Church Office for more details. Also on occasion, as well as the organ to accompany the singing, there is a Junior Band. We mostly use the Church Hymnary, Fourth Edition (CH4) but having a copyright licence, also frequently borrow praise items from other sources.

The Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper is celebrated on the first Sundays of December, March, June and September, and also on the significant dates of Christmas, Easter and Pentecost. Here the good news proclaimed in word is reinforced by the sharing of bread and wine, faithful to the tradition which came from the Lord Jesus himself.

The Sacrament of Baptism is administered by arrangement with the Minister / interim moderator. Please feel free to contact us if this is of interest to you.

All are welcome to come to these services – those with questions and doubts as well as those of strong faith! We aim positively to welcome the stranger in our midst and to accept one another, to the glory of God.
